Georgia O’Keeffe at Kunstforum Wien

After last year’s very successful exhibition at Tate Modern, the artworks from Georgia O’Keeffe are now on show at the Bank Austria Kunstforum in Vienna. O’Keeffe is known as a pioneer of American Modernism and creator of the most expensive painting, that was auctioned by a female artist. She was married to the famous photographer Alfred Stieglitz, who became a great supporter of her work. In her early career O’Keefe used to be a graphic designer and teacher and debuted as an artist at her very first solo exhibition in 1917. Most of her artworks are located in the United States, where the Georgia O’Keeffe Museum in Santa Fee exhibits more than 1,000 pieces. The recent show in Vienna is one of the very rare opportunities to see her paintings, including the unique Jimson Weed/White Flower No. 1 (1932), outside the USA.

Look at our huge selfie wall in the entrance hall! we hope you pass by a lot to take some pictures 📷👍
