1) Human communication and its errors
The human communication developed parallel to the technical revolution. Today we are communicating faster and about a longer distance than 200 hundred years ago. Several communication channels like mobile phones, satellites and mailing systems, occurred recently, in which we don’t use the classical face-to-face position anymore. This leads to several decoding errors nowadays due to noise.
The sender (in the ill. The green man) searches his favorite communication channel and sends a self-coded message to the receiver (the pink women). She decodes the message with the aid of the context. Several disruptions can occur during this process: The SMS can be transferred only in fragments, the email can not be delivered or the receiver misinterprets the information. Besides there still a lot of errors in the classical face-to-face communication, too. The figure 1 visualizes this process:
